I found my dress!

and it’s absolutely perfect. We went to the Jenny Yoo showroom on Saturday. Of course I was looking forward to it, but I was also frustrated that I had already been to 2 other shops and nothing I had tried on felt very special. I kept thinking I just wasn’t going to have that feeling of knowing it was “the one”. I was very very wrong. I can’t stop staring at pictures of the dress and reminiscing on how I felt with it on! I am starting to have a clear image of what our wedding day is going to look like, and it’s going to be amazing!

Hello Friends and Family,

We cannot wait to celebrate our big day with you.

Instead of registering for plates, blenders, or towels we decided to register for a honeymoon. With your generosity, we are hoping to have the honeymoon of our dreams in Riviera Maya, Mexico, where we’ll spend the week eating, drinking, and relaxing on the beach together as husband and wife!

We will cherish the memories we make on this trip forever and we’ll never forget it was you who helped make it all possible. If you’re reading this, its safe to say you’re someone that both of us adore and we are thrilled that you’re able to make it to the wedding!

Thanks again for everything and, unlike a toaster, we’ll have tons of pictures to share once we’re back from Riviera Maya. We love you and are thrilled that you’ll be there when we say “I do”.

Brandon and I have FINALLY started planning our wedding, and have made the decision to move it up to late July/ early August. Seraching for venues and dresses now, already thinking about invites and table setting. This is going to be so much fun. I can’t wait to see what we come up with.

The last 5 days have been a crazy whirlwind of excitement...

The last 5 days have been a crazy whirlwind of excitement and anxiety. We took our Brandon + Lily campaign to the streets of Los Angeles (and New York), putting up flyers in strange places and parading around LACMA with a queen sized sheet banner. We even baked some delicious funfetti cupcakes to exchange for votes! Whether we win or lose this YEAH! Weddings Giveaway we have learned two very important things:

First, we have some amazing friends and family who we plan on throwing one hell of a party for. There are so many wonderful people in our lives that have helped make this campaign possible! The support we have received throughout this experience as been heart-melting. We owe a debt we can’t repay. So, to everyone that has helped us print signs, hang flyers, and tweet your hearts out for us, we’ll do everything we can to say thank you with free food and booze… Booze generally works.

Second, we’ve reinforced the fact that we make a great team. We were in this together from day one. Pouring our hearts and souls in to this thing in the name of love (and free weddings). We’ve always talked about how incredible it would be to work together one day, and after this contest I have no doubt we’ll be able to make that a reality one day. We’ve loved sharing every minute of this together (and only really wanted to kill each other 3 or 4 times). So no matter what happens, we wouldn’t trade this awesome experience for the world… well maybe for a free wedding.

High Violet had just been released so at the time we were gushing about how much we loved that release. After the dust settled we both agreed that Apartment Story was really the song that summed us up best. It incapsulates everything we love: Stiff drinks, dressing up, and cold nights spent cuddled up together… God we’re gross

We had planned a trip to Palm Springs for Brandon’s birthday...

We had planned a trip to Palm Springs for Brandon’s birthday weekend. I spent the whole week before super sick in bed not even sure if I’d make it to see Friday. Friday came, and I was still alive. but barely. We woke up, starting discussing our plans to leave the house and get on the road to the desert. Brandon mentioned that he had a present for me and proceeded to tell me what a good boyfriend is was for getting me something on his birthday weekend. My mind immediately went to the pair of Ray Bans I had been wanting… seems like the perfect palm springs weekend gift, right? A few hours went by, we packed, did the dished, I showered, etc. When I got out of the shower I noticed that Brandon had my iphone in his hands. I gave him a strange look. He quickly said he saw a raccoon in the back yard and was trying to get a picture (I found out later he had actually stolen my phone to call my dad). So I smiled and cocked my head to one side. He is just strange enough that I believed him. Anyway, we were all packed up and ready to leave when he reminded me that he had a gift to give me. He told me to sit on the couch and close my eyes. You can imagine my surprise when I opened them and DID NOT find a pair of sunglasses, but instead saw a beautiful diamond ring. I said yes.

A boy meets girl story, but at 35,000 feet.

Love is in the air. Just really high up! Lily’s seat was at the window, Brandon’s was in the middle, and now they’re headed down the aisle! Lily and Brandon were total strangers who found themselves chatting the entire 45 minute flight to Vegas. They talked about their love for The National and their endless pursuit for the best pho in Los Angeles. Neither of them had ever been to where they were headed— and isn’t that where love takes everyone? Brandon asked Lily out on a date for the following weekend. Upon hearing her address, they discovered that in the vastness of L.A. (oh em gee!) they lived down the street from each other . And after that first date, they haven’t spent more than 4 days apart. Lily and Brandon (both artistic and very OCD like Tracy Flick in ELECTION) were planning to get married next October with every last detail under their control. They’ve since thrown caution to the Santa Ana winds because they believe in love, magic and YEAH! weddings (oh and Unicorns, too!).
